Q: How do I get hold of the keys?
A: You will get the keys for the estate agent upon arrival at the apartment.

Q: Do we need to bring our own linens, blankets, or towels?
A: Depends on the apartment and the owner, most likely not.

Q: How many keys can we be provided?
A: In general 1 sets for each bedroom in the apartment.

Q: Do we need to pay a deposit for possible damages?
A: Yes. Depends on the apartment and the owner but most are welcome to accept the credit card details as guarantee.

Q: Do you accept cash payments?
A: Yes, but we prefer not

Q: Is there any food and drinks in the apartment?
A:No, but the fridge is on so you can bring and store your own



Q: Do you allow pets?
A: Sometimes. Depends on the owner of the apartment.

Q: Do you allow smoking?
A: Sometimes. Depends on the owner of the apartment.

Q: Do you allow guests?
A: Of course. However if they want to spend the night we should be informed and will only allow if there is enough room in the apartment.

Q: How do I get hold of the keys?
A: You will get the keys from the estate agent after signing a rental agreement

Q: Do we need to bring our own linens, blankets, or towels?
A: Depends on the apartment and the owner, most likely yes.

Q: Do we need to pay a deposit for possible damages?
A: Very likely. Depends on the apartment and the owner but is is common practice to ask for 2 month rent worth of deposit

Q: Do you accept cash payments?
A:Sometimes, but bank wire is preferred


Q: Is there a commission to be paid.
A:Not to us, but the agent who will search on your behalf will ask a commission. Usually this is one month rent



Q: Do you allow pets?
A: Sometimes. Depends on the owner of the apartment.

A: very likely. Depends on the owner of the apartment.

Q: How do I get hold of the keys?
A: You will get the keys from the estate agent upon transferring the property

Q: Do we need to pay taxes?
A: For existing (no new development) properties in the Netherlands it is common practice that the buyer pays the expenses. This is the notary fee, 6% tax, bank fees and your agents fee.

Q: Can we get a mortgage if we are non residents?
A: Yes, if you can provide enough security for the bank it will accept non residents and expats.

Q: How much time does it take to buy a house?
A: Depends, once you have found the desired house and agreed on the price. You sign a purchasing agreement. Usually 1 to 3 months later the property is transfered from owner. This period is often related to the time needed to get financing / mortgage


Q: Do you have any recommendations?
A: if you are not familiar with the local habits get a recognised agent to represent you.
