The best known shopping areas in Amsterdam are The Kalverstraat, The Nieuwendijk and The Leidsestraat. While these places have a lot to offer, we would also like to recommend some spots that are a bit more authentic and unique (and not as touristy).

Laura Dols, specializing in vintage, chic clothing has two shops opposite each other. At No 7 the emphasis is on glamour- evening dresses, classic dinner jackets and tuxedos, as well as vintage jewelery, beaded evening bags, arm length evening gloves, stoles, scarves, and shoes. This is the place to go if you're going to a theme party! At No 6 are vintage linens including bedding, tablecloths and napkins.

The owners have two clothing stores in this street; one for women and the other for men. They sell their own label, but also Paul Smith, Comme Des Garçons, Tayama, Cacharel, New York Industries, Isabel Marant, C.P. Company, Victor Victoria and John Smedley.
